4 MARATHONS. 14FT. 24 HOURS AND OVER £22,000 RAISED.
This was R24.
Most of us know the feeling of going around in circles – it’s a challenge that tests our character, our determination and most of all our mental strength. It’s also a challenge that Josh chose to endure on 28th May, 2020 – to run continuously around his 14ft London patio for 24 hours to raise money for charity.
With no visualisation of a finish line, it becomes even more difficult to push yourself through when it starts to get tough. This is the very reason Josh embarks on such challenges; to prove that even with mental health, your mind is capable of extraordinary things.
Contacted by Katie, the best friend of Ben Brown who had taken his own life that same year, the challenge was to honour Ben and deliver the crucial message that you are not alone, no matter how hard times are. Josh ran 105 miles, raised £22,521 for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), with that money generating 2,815 life saving phone calls.
I hope one challenge at a time we can deliver this key message to those that need it most, that they’re supported and certainly not alone.
